The Cardinal Society Side Plate is a premium Japanese-made replacement side plate designed specifically for the legendary Abu Cardinal 3 and Cardinal 33 platform.

Made in Japan by Shizuku Custom Designs, each side plate is manufactured from ABS resin using precision injection molding, providing excellent dimensional accuracy, transparency, and strength while maintaining a refined appearance worthy of a custom Cardinal build.

Beyond aesthetics, the lightweight construction provides a functional upgrade as well. Replacing the original side plate reduces reel weight by approximately 3.2g, helping further refine an ultralight Cardinal setup.

Extra attention has been given to one of the most critical areas of the design—the mounting point. A custom-machined stainless-steel sleeve reinforces the screw-mounting area, helping prevent cracking when tightening the cover or during regular fishing use. Custom-machined screws are also included and are designed for compatibility with both vintage and reproduction Cardinal models.

Fitment note: Due to manufacturing tolerances and individual differences found among vintage reels, the cover sleeve may make very slight contact with the #11131 R-crank on some examples. If contact occurs, lightly polishing or grinding the contact area with a rotary tool or similar tool should provide the necessary clearance.
